Synopsis

A thief steals a bag from a refugee. When he opens the bag, he finds a new life and a quick death.

Director’s statement

A film, made with young people with a refugee background, explores the shortest love story of a refugee and explores a critical view of the world order.

Ravi Joghee, director and screenwriter

Born in the mountains of Nilgiris in a tribal community in India, he has been living in the Netherlands for since 2015. In India he worked as a co-director with director Balaji Sakthivel, Jd-Jery and Vasantha Balan on feature films  Ullaasam (1997)Kaadhal (2004)  ,  Samurai (2002)  ,  Whistle (2003) ,  Kalloori (2007) . He is the Director Of Photography for few interesting documentaries with John Holden (Six-time Emmy Award winner for his documentaries for Fox TV). In the Netherlands, he makes school films with ISK students. The short film Dear Thief is his attempt to elevate even school films to a new international level. The film is produced by New Rootz Film Academy in collaboration with Facemagic Productions.
